The Holiday Season is quickly approaching. For Illinois Landlords with property in Lake County, it means that the Sheriff will stop evictions. Starting mid December, the Sheriff will stop evictions for the Holidays and resume evictions around the first week of January. Once the Sheriff notifies of the exact cut-off date, I will post that information. If you are a Landlord considering evicting your tenant for non-payment or other violation of the lease, it is recommended that you begin the process as soon as possible to complete the eviction prior to the stoppage. Otherwise, your eviction may not take place until end of January or beginning of February.
